Selfie Light — Privacy Policy

Overview

Selfie Light is a lighting utility for iPhone. It does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. There is no backend. There is no account system. What happens on your device stays on your device.

Data We Do Not Collect

No personal information (name, email, phone number)
No location data
No analytics or usage tracking
No advertising identifiers
No crash reporting sent to third parties
No camera images or videos transmitted off-device

Device Permissions

Selfie Light requests the following system permissions. Each is used exclusively for the feature described — never for tracking or data collection.

Camera

Used to display a live camera preview in Photo mode, allowing you to use your screen as a ring light while framing a shot. Photos and videos are captured directly to your device's photo library. No image data is transmitted.

Photo Library

Used to save photos and videos you capture within the app to your device's Photos library. Read access is used solely to display a thumbnail of your most recently captured asset within the app. No photos or videos are accessed for any other purpose.

Microphone

Used to record audio when you capture video in Photo mode. Audio is recorded directly to the video file saved on your device. Microphone access is requested only the first time you attempt to record a video. No audio is transmitted or stored externally.

On-Device Storage

Selfie Light stores the following data locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults:

Your selected light color and brightness preference
Your last-used mode (light, photo, book, lava)
Your in-app purchase status (premium or free tier)
Your usage counters (photo and video capture counts, for free-tier limits)
The date you first installed the app (used to determine trial period)

This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

In-App Purchases

Selfie Light offers a one-time purchase (Selfie Light Premium) processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not handle payment information directly. Apple's privacy policy governs the transaction. We receive only a confirmation of the purchase from StoreKit — no financial data.

Third-Party Services

Selfie Light does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or data brokers. The only external communication is with Apple's StoreKit framework for purchase validation, which is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Children's Privacy

Selfie Light does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Because the app collects no personal data at all, it is suitable for use by anyone.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
